Gordon

I stumbled into Earthbound Arts one Sunday afternoon before brunch looking for a story in downtownWinston-Salem. There I met Gordon Jones, the store's entrepreneurial co-owner and craftsman, whograciously shared his story with me and my camera.

Presented as 2-channel projection.

Update: April, 2014. Gordon was selected for a Purchase Award and was acquisitioned into the Wake Forest University Student Art Collection.

Here's an interview about the film, featured on START Gallery's Local Color blog.

(UN)Rest: Yasuni Protests in Ecuador

On August 15,, 2013, Ecuadorean President Rafael Correa announced plans to abandon the Yasuni-ITT conservation initiative, which would have protected Yasuni National Park, one of the most biodiverse areas of the world, from oil exploitation. The Yasuni is the ancestral territory of the indigenous Huaorani people, as well as the home to at least two more uncontacted tribes, one-third of the world´s reptiles, one-third of the Amazon´s bird species diversity, over 100,000 species of insects, and many more endangered and endemic species An overwhelming majority of the Ecuadorean population are against this decision, and in the following week, protests broke out all over the country One week later
